goalpost_es3310.jpg
This picture shows a goalpost in the middle of a field and it
was taken using the DigiCam ES3310 digital camera. The quality of this picture
is not too bad. However, the there seems to specks of noise along the runnung
track. Also, the row of plam trees in back of the field looks blurred and the
pattern of their leaves cannot be distinguished easily.
If you look at the region of the sky marked by the red
rectangle, you will find that the color there looks washed out and you are not
able to see the object against the background of the sky clearly. The same
picture was taken at the same time using the Olympus D580, and you can find it
here. You will be able to see the object that was missing in the region
of the blue rectangle more clearly in the Olympus D580 picture.
In this picture, the net of the goalpost cannot be seen
clearly and if you zoom in closely, you will find a patch of blurred spots and
lines. However, I am sure my eyes could see the net of goalpost clearly when I
took the picture. It would make a better picture if the net of the goalpost
could be capture just the way my eyes see them.
There also appears to be substantial blurring of the details
of the metal railings behind the goalpost. This is shown in the region marked
by the blue rectangle in the picture above. In this picture, the individual
horizontal ralings of the metal railing cannot be see clearly. This is probably
caused by some image processing algorithms in the camera processing unit doing
averaging of the pixels in a neighbourhood.
