runtrack_es3310.jpg
This picture was taken using the DigiCam ES3310 during the
afternoon and it shows a running track as well as some palm trees in the
distance. Overall, the quality of the picture is reasonable. However, there
appears to be noise throughout the entire image. This cause the entire image to
look blurred and unrealistic.
The camera was not able to capture the details of the metal
grating beside the running track very well. This is shown in the region marked
by the green rectangle. In the picture, the metal grating looks like a flat
sheet of metal instead of having individual metal stripes. This is illustrated
in the 2 pictures shown below. The one on the left shows the metal grating as
depicted in the image while the one on the right shows a closer view of the
metal grating. This time in the closer view, you can see the metal stripes of
the grating clearly.

The row of palm trees in the centre of the picture also looks
blurred. Those parts of the leaves that are in the shadows becomes totally
black, resulting in a loss of details. This can be seen in the region marked by
the red rectangle.
In the region marked by the blue rectangle, it was not able
to make out the seperation between each individual lines of the running track
anymore when they start to converge after the turn of the track. Instead, all
you can see in the picture is a patch of blurred lines. It would be good if the
camera could capture the fine seperation between the lines, just like the way
our eyes see it. Most digital cameras are not able to capture such fine
details. The same thing also happens in this same picture taken using the
Olympus D580 camera which you can find
over here.
