densetree_SL400R.jpg
This picture taken by Kyocera FineCam SL400R digital
camera shows a shot of a tree with dense leaves taken in broad daylight. The
exposure metering was set to Evaluation mode.
My Observations:
-Underside of Canopy of Tree is too Dark
The underside of the canopy of the tree turns out
too dark in this picture. Thus, there is loss of details among the leaves. This
is highlighted in the red rectangle above.
-Not too much Blurring
The dense leaves of the tree can still be
distinguished, although maybe not as clearly as our eyes can see. This means
that the image processing algorithms of this camera does not introduce much
blurring to the picture. If the leaves of the trees appear in green patches,
that means that there is blurring during the processing of the picture by the
camera.
-Comparison with other Camera
Take a look at the same picture taken by the Olympus
D580 digital camera over here.
The main feature for comparison in this picture is in the dense leaves of the
tree. The pictures below show comparison between the two cameras of regions
taken from the tree above.

The colors of the leaves look more vibrant and
fresher in the picture by Olympus D580 than in the one by the SL400R. The
leaves can be distinguished quite clearly for both the cameras, which is very
good compared to many other cameras already.
