grass_nik5700.jpg
Here is a picture I took using the Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital
camera. This picture has some parts which is under bright sunlight while other
areas are in shadows. Overall, the colors of the grass in this picture looks
fresh and vibrant. The settings used are aperture size of f6.3, shuttle speed
of 1/218 sec and ISo rating of 100. These settings are well chosen by the
camera. Compared to the same
picture taken by the DigiCam ES3310 digital camera, this picture is
much better in terms of quality. Both pictures were taken under the same
lighting conditions and they both uses the same ISO rating of 100. The only
difference is that the ES3310 used a faster exposure time and a larger aperture
size compared to the picture taken by 5700.
The sky of this picture also looks more real than the one
taken by ES3310. However, there is a curious artifact in region marked by red
rectangle. If you look closely, you will find a thick purple fringe along the
tree trunk. It can also be seen in the image below. This artifact is probably
introduced by the camera processing unit. Fortunately, it is obscured among the
trees and not noticeable. However, there could be situations next time when the
artifact may appear in prominent areas of the picture, making the picture look bad.
