Here is a picture of a row of cars at a car exhibition. My
friend took this picture with the Olympus D580. The picture looks fantastic and
the lighting at the exhibition hall is bright enough, allowing the details in
this picture to seen clearly. However, take a look at this next picture below.
This shot was taken at the other end of the row of cars.

This picture looks bad because the entire image is very noisy
and the background is very dark. My friend took many shots of this scene with
different exposures and settings but the effect is still the same. The setting
used for this picture is aperture size of f5.2, shutter speed of 1/100 sec, and
ISO rating of 400. The noise present in the image is probably due to the high
ISO rating and longe exposure. However, the image should have been brighter due
to longer exposure and higher ISO rating, and it could be because the aperture
size is small. This was probably adjusted by the camera to increae the depth of
field for taking this picture, which is good. However, I still do not
understand why the background turns out to be so dark.
