This picture shows a MacBeth color chart taken using the
Olympus D580 camera at 11.7 Lux of light. The Macbeth color chart is often used
by camera manufacturers to gauge the performance of digital cameras. The device
besides the chart is a lightmeter. From its reading, we know that the amount of
light present when the picture was taken is 11.7 Lux. No flash was used when
taking this picture and surprisingly, the colors of the MacBeth chart turns out
to be great. The details of the objects in the picture can also be seen very
clearly. This shows that the Olympus D580 camera is able to deliver good
pictures in places where the light is dim. In contrast, the same picture taken
using the DigiCam ES3310 is very poor. The amount of light in the room is also
11.7 Lux and no flash is used. The picture taken using ES3310 appears all
black, and you can see it below. If you use a photo editor to brighten up the
image, then you will be able to see some details of the MacBeth chart and the
lightmeter.
