ferrarifade_olyD580.jpg
Here is a close up shot of a red ferrari using the Olympus
D580 Zoom digital camera. This picture was taken with aperture size of f3.1,
shutter speed of 1/8 sec, and ISO rating of 100. These settings were chosen
automatically by the camera when taking this picture. No flash was used when
taking the picture. Notice that the red color of the ferrari seems distorted
and faded around the area near the bonnet. If you do not believe me, take a
look at the picture below, which is another shot of the ferrari, this time
taken a little bit further away. The red color of the ferrari turns out better
this time, and this makes the picture looks more striking and attractive.
The second shot of the ferrari was taken with an aperture
size of f3, shutter speed of 1/30 sec, and ISO rating of 129. So basically,
both shots of the ferrari have approximately the same aperture size and ISO
rating, but different shutter speed. The first shot was taken with a longer
exposure than the second shot, and this could be one reason why the color looks
faded. However, notice that the color of the surrounding objects do not look
faded. Therefore, it is most probably that the color of the ferrari was
distorted by the image processing algorithms of the camera itself.
