fountain2_olyD580.jpg
Here is a shot of a fountain outside a
building taken using the Olympus D580 Zoom digital camera. From this picture,
one can see that the Olympus D580 Zoom digital camera is truly a good quality
camera. It is able to capture the droplets of water in the air clearly and the
ripples and splashes of created by water falling down to the pool are vividly
captured. Two thumbs up for the Olympus D580 Zoom! In fact, the quality of this
picture is almost similar to that taken by the more expensive camera, Nikon
Coolpix 5700. You can find a similar picture taken by the Nikon Coolpix
5700 here.
Region A

Fringing near the edges of buildings is
present in this picture, and this can be seen in region A on the left side of
the picture. Fringing refers to the red or blue lines present near the edge of
the building. This type of artifacts is usually caused by error introduced
during demosaicing, a very important processing stage that is required in most
digital cameras. Such artifacts can also present in 5MB cameras like the Nikon
Coolpix 5700, as shown in a similar
picture taken using it.
